It has just began and we can't wait until it's over already.
Today, rushed to Union Station to take the 5:51 p.m., and surprise! (not!) We were told that there was a problem with the engine and that we would depart shortly. I fell asleep, woke up half-an-hour later only to find out that we were still in Union Station. Long story short, we ended up departing not at 5:51 p.m., but about 45 minutes later, only to have the train stop outside of the station for another ten minutes. We finally got to Savage at around 7:30 p.m.
Well, at least our A.C. worked...
The Washington Post still covered today the mess that took place on Monday, with 900 riders stuck for a couple hours in a very hot train. You know, if you leave a child inside of a sweltering car for a while, you can go to jail. And yet, the folks at MARC have not trouble asking riders to stay in a train at about 100 degree temperatures. Unbelievable.
